About Me

As a former NCAA Division I swimmer at Saint Louis University, I was lost when my swimming career came to an end.  I was so used to having someone tell me what to do at practice everyday and working out like a crazy lady.  I tried running for a while but it didn't provide the same workout high as swimming gave me and it was so hard to motivate myself.  Someone suggested I should try CrossFit in May of 2013 and after the first intro workout, I have been hooked!

I love the constantly varied workouts, the competition you can get from those that work out with you, that the coaches tell me what to do and I don't have to program for myself, and that there is always something you can work and improve upon.  I discovered that swimming had given me a pretty good base and that I wasn't too bad at competitive exercise.  I qualified for the North Central CrossFit Regionals as a team member of CrossFit St. Louis in May of 2014 and seeing all the individuals that were competing there gave me an even deeper love for CrossFit.

After my team placed 4th at regionals (the top 3 go to the CrossFit games in California), I came home and set some goals for myself to achieve over the next year.  I have increased my intensity in the gym but I know there are other ways to increase my performance in the gym as well, including my diet.

There lies the reason for me creating this blog.  It will include my struggles and triumphs with my diet, training in the gym, and life.  I hope to let you all in to part of my life and that I bring some laughs, motivation, or help for others like me along the way.  I hope you enjoy this journey with me!
